Croydon Composers, Vol. 3

A 11 track alternative album (52m 5s) — released November 20th 2020 on Drum The Bass

CROYDON COMPOSERS VOL. 3 is the latest album from the ground-breaking, cross-genre musical collaboration of 25 musicians, composers and producers who are members of CROYDON COMPOSERS ONLINE (CCO) which was launched in response to the ongoing closure of music venues.

The album features eleven tracks created and recorded by the 25 who worked – remotely of course – in duos and trios to create brand new music together. Riffing off each other's musical styles, energy and experience, the musicians are thrilled to present CROYDON COMPOSERS Vol. 3 to music lovers everywhere. The musical styles represented on the album include rap, reggae, jazz, Indian classical music, rock, freeform vocals and some serious solo work.

Created by the dynamic production company, Croydon-based Drum The Bass, Croydon Composers Online is the brainchild of Drum The Bass Artistic Director and BASCA-award winning composer, producer and bassist Shri Sriram; Drum The Bass Project Director Shirin Sriram, and Music Business Consultant Michael Fuller.

The team has brought together a formidable line-up of highly experienced and very cool musicians, producers, and composers including the project's overall producer Shri Sriram, as well as start-up musicians and performers from Drum The Bass' young musicians programme.

"We didn't want to wait for venues to open up again before we got our next project off the ground," explains Shri Sriram. "This latest edition of Croydon Composers has been an exceptionally enjoyable process full of discovery, learning and excitement. Every collaboration has a unique flavour and approach - and each track is outstanding for me. I'm super excited that we've got local artists featuring alongside very experienced practitioners; it means we can expand the reach and connectivity of Croydon musicians and composers. It was hard work for the team and me to mentor, arrange, coordinate and be diplomatic with 25 artists - and most of it online, but every sound that came back was so inspiring that it constantly re-affirmed our vision and kept us forging ahead! I hope you enjoy the music!!" - Shri Sriram
